Gosselies (Belgium) – June 12, 2013 - The foundation stone of the Walloon Cell Therapy Platform in Gosselies (Belgium) was laid in presence of Mr. J.-C. Marcourt, Vice President and Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Foreign Trade and New Technologies of the Walloon Region and Mr. J.-M. Nollet, Vice President and Minister for Sustainable Development, Public Administration and Energy, Housing and Research in the Walloon Region. The total investment of EUR 20 million is financed by a Public-Private Partnership.
This platform will allow large-scale production of cell therapy medicines and has been established thanks to a public-private partnership. The Walloon Region and Sambrinvest contribute to the industrial renewal of the region and two private Cell Therapy Companies - Promethera Biosciences and Bone Therapeutics – invest.
Promethera Biosciences will start its large-scale production from 2015.
